Hooray for the USA

Wow, do I have the Monday blues after last week! It was so nice having Wednesday off for the Fourth of July, but Thursday was miserable at work and slow! We ended up taking Friday off and heading to the lake to get in an extra day! This year was a good and long celebration of the 4th!

We started celebrating the 4th off by watching fireworks on the 3rd with some friends at a friends house! On the actual 4th we had a pool party at my Dad's pool and grilled out! We had a pretty day with a thunderstorm here and there in the afternoon, but other than that it was beautiful!

I also bought a unicorn float I had been wanting too! It wasn't the best to float on but it made for a cute picture!

We spent all day by the pool and cooked burgers and hot dogs and had so much food! We ordered pizza for dinner and called it a fairly early night because we all had to work the next day! Thursday was luckily slow at work and after work we packed up the dogs and headed to the lake.

Friday, we got up and headed out for a boat ride. We anchored the boat and floated for about 30 minutes before the clouds started rolling in out of nowhere. Unfortunately we were quite a ways from our house, so we got stuck in the storm, but thankfully we found an old covered dock and took cover until the storm had slowed down. I am so glad we got to enjoy some of the sunny weather before the rain came!

The rest of the evening was a wash with rain off and on. We ate dinner and called it an early night because Saturday we had plans for lunch and a day on the lake.

However, when we woke up on Saturday it was freezing and overcast. When I say freezing, I mean it was 70 degrees but it felt colder! We took a boat ride to lunch and enjoyed lunch with the whole crew, Dad, Steph, her kids and my aunt and uncle! Then we took the girls tubing and froze our butts off. After the boat ride I ran upstairs and took a hot bath before the cook out and fireworks at the house! We ended the night with a cookout and fireworks!

We had a great long week celebrating the 4th of July! How did you celebrate?
