Stephenson Wedding {Honeymoon: Part One}

Wedding Wednesday is finally here and I have a special surprise for you! Today, tomorrow and Friday will be all about our Honeymoon!!!

Mexico...I miss you so much! You were so relaxing. You were so much fun. You were so warm. Now we are back in the real world and I keep daydreaming of all the endless drinks and all the fun Timmy and I had!

Timmy and I had the most amazing honeymoon! We went to Mexico and stayed at the all inclusive Secrets Maroma Beach Riveria Cancun and it was absolutely gorgeous! We couldn't have picked a better spot to spend out honeymoon - it had exactly what we wanted - fun and romance! Now let's get to the best part - the pictures!

Sunday - Day One

We left RDU very early - our flight was at 7:30 so we had to get up around 3:30ish. The only thing that got me up was knowing we were going to be in Mexico for the next 6 days! We grabbed some breakfast when we got to the airport and waited and waited for them to start boarding the plane. Of course there was something wrong and they had to change planes last minute so Timmy and I were getting worried we would leave late and miss our connecting flight that left only 40 minutes after we would arrive in ATL. Luckily we left on time and made our connecting flight and made it to Mexico in perfect time!

Of course when we got there we were greeted by all of the employees all so excited for new guests! We went to go check in and I sat my purse down on the ground and I had 2 employees running up to me saying "No, no!" and brought a stool for my purse - I knew this was the place for me after that!

After we were all checked in, we got the sales pitch. "Buy real estate with us and you will get this...blah blah blah" Don't ever fall for it. We were roped into going the next day to breakfast but bailed. Once we ditched the sales guy we made it to our room! Oh I LOVED our room. We upgraded a few months before we left to a room with a private swim out pool that you share with about 6 other rooms and it was so worth it. We rarely used the swim out but it was nice to have that view and the porch.

Once I completely unpacked my bags, a terrible habit I have to do before I can do anything else, we went to explore the resort. We didn't get too far before we had a margarita in our hand and found our seat at the bar. We got some info on the resort and found out they were having a mexican fiesta out by the pool that night - so we knew we had to go! Our first night in Mexico and there was going to be a huge feast - yes!! So we went back to the room, got ready and headed to the fiesta!

When we got there I was so disappointed...it was my normal mexican food...it was authentic and I am such a picky eater so I had a hard time. But boy Timmy didn't! Timmy was loving it all! There was a mariachi band going around singing to the guests so I enjoyed the entertainment more than the food!

Timmy could tell I was not enjoying my food so being the wonderful husband he is, he didn't go back for thirds and we left dinner. It was a Sunday night so I knew how we were going to spend the rest of the night...posted up at the bar watching the Patriots game. By about 10pm I was exhausted and had to go back to the room to get some sleep...remember we had been up since 3AM! Before I went to bed I ordered room service and discovered their delicious pizza they had and oh man from there on out room service was going to be my best friend!!

Come back tomorrow to see some more of our Honeymoon!!!

I love Cancun! It's so beautiful! I can't wait to go back next year. As soon as we landed at the airport they had all these sales pitches,etc. It's kind of annoying in a way but I get it. It looks like y'all had an amazing time! Y'alls room looked awesome!

Our room was the best part! We didn't spend too much time in the room except for the last day! The best was so comfortable too!

I LOVE Mexico. I've only gone all-inclusive once but that is the way to go. Also good thing they got a stool for your purse because it is CUTE! I love it. :) Having the private pool is so cool, even if you didn't use it much.

Congratulations on your nuptials! My husband and I went to St. Lucia for our honeymoon and we had a blast. It looks like you guys really enjoyed Cancun! The only part of Mexico I've been to is Cabo, but Cancun looks absolutely beautiful.

All the Best,
