52 Week Blogger Challenge {Week 5: Why Did You Start Blogging?}

WEEK FIVE: Why Did You Start Blogging?

People ask me this question all the time. I started blogging because I wanted to I say to them..but I will give you all a little more polite answer and a more in depth answer.

When I first started blogging I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. I look back and laugh at some of my early posts but, that is how blogging is...you grow and learn to be more open about your writing. My blog has changed from this once a week poster to an almost 4-5 days a week about not just my pinterest boards but about my life, who I am, and how I became who I am.

At first I started blogging because I loved reading blogs and I wanted to have my own blog. I thought it would be cool to be able to label myself as a blogger. I was horrible, if you can even say that, at blogging (I am not sure there is a right way or a wrong way to write your own blog). It wasn't until after I got engaged and the wedding planning had really begun is when I took a real effort into creating posts for my readers. I wanted to capture every moment during our engagement and have a place where I can look back and see everything in one place, but I didn't just want to be a blog about planning a wedding..I wanted readers that weren't connecting with me on that level to also enjoy my blog. I mean I had attempted to blog before I was engaged and I definitely wanted to continue blogging after our wedding (ps we are already a little over 2 months into our marriage). So I found inspiration in daily life, pinterest, other bloggers, my relationships and of course my wedding!

So to answer this question a little more direct...I started blogging because I wanted to have a place I can look back on and see what was going on in that stage of my life, or look back at the latest trends, but I also wanted my blog to be a place where people find entertainment, get inspiration and mostly build a community of friends far and wide that have similar interests. One of my favorite things about blogging is the support I get from people I have never met in my life and the love they show towards my posts. There are times on the blog where I delve deep into my emotions and am brutally honest with my readers and the no judgement zone is such a great thing - because half the time I am not this brutally honest or that much of an open book to some of my closest friends.

So thank you to everyone who continues to read my blog, if I get boring please let me know!
