Military Diet

I took the plunge and tried the Military Diet. If you follow me on Instagram you have been seeing me post pictures of each meal from this diet. I did not complete it...BUT only because when I started it I forgot Timmy and I had made dinner plans on Day Three. I will definitely be doing it again...I want to try and do it next week because I leave on my cruise the following week, but with Memorial Day weekend and my busy week next week I am not sure if I will be able to. But if not I am will start it once I am back from my cruise!

I had always heard about the Military Diet and was very intimidated by it whenever I looked at how little was on my list of food to eat each day, but the foods work together and keep you somewhat full. Yes, I was hungry a lot but this was also the first time in a long time I had really portioned my meals out like this and had this few calories in a day. They say you aren't supposed to get on the scale until the morning of the 4th day...but I got on the scale everyday. I know weight fluctuates daily but here is what I saw on the scale

Day 2 night = -1.5 pounds
Day 3 morning = -2 pounds
Day 4 morning = -1.5 pounds

- DAY ONE -

#breakfast

Orange, Toast with PB and water.
(They say not to substitute an orange for grapefruit, you should sub water and baking soda...but there was no way that was happening.

#lunch

Chicken (substitute for tuna), toast and water.

#dinner

Steak, green beans & 1 cup of vanilla ice cream
(I left my bananas & apples at work)

Below is my calorie intake from my logged food from Day One in my FitBit

- DAY TWO -

#breakfast

1 scrambled egg, toast & 1/2 banana

#lunch

Cottage Cheese, toast & scrambled egg
(This was my first time ever eating cottage cheese, it wasn't too bad)

#dinner

2 hotdogs, 1/2 banana. 3 slices of cheese and 1 cup of vanilla ice cream
(I don't eat broccoli and I didn't have any carrots)

- DAY THREE-

#breakfast

1 apple, slice of cheese and toast
(Substituted toast for saltine crackers)

#lunch

1 scrambled egg and toast

#dinner #WHOOPS - I didn't end up taking a picture but Timmy and I had plans to eat dinner with another couple so I cheated and didn't finish my diet. But let me tell you what that Mexican food was delicious!

Overall, I really enjoyed the Military diet! I knew I wasn't going to lose 10 pounds in 3 days because that is crazy. But if I can lose about 1.5-2 pounds each time I do it and not gain weight between that would be great! Like I said I want to do it again next week but I just don't think it will work out so I will have to wait until after I get back from my cruise!

Have any of you all done the military diet? If so, what did you think?

I've never heard of the military diet. Wishing you all the best with it! I'm working on losing weight right now too, but as you saw from my post which featured chinese takeout and s'mores oreos I'm still squeezing some splurges in my daily calorie budget ...and tossing a once a week "cheat night" in the mix too - lol! I've been using the "Lose It!" app and have found it to be such a helpful way to track my eating & stay on track. :) It was great to hear from you today! Thanks so much for stopping by this morning!! Have a fantastic time on your cruise!!! xo - Brenda // Chatting Over Chocolate

I've heard about the military diet, but never really checked into it. Jeeze, that's not a lot of food at all! =P I'm not sure I could do it.

I've been looking for a small diet like this to try! I'm going to try it and see how it goes! It looks like it will be a good way to cleanse and restart!

maybe I'm just used to no portioning my meals correctly, but the lack of food on plates is so scary! Feels like you don't eat enough.. Which, maybe I just eat too much? I mean, lettuce and tomatoes at least should be allowed freely.. haha But at least they let you eat ice cream! :)

Never heard of this diet before. . . but looks a lot like so many out there that focus on portion control. Good for you, and good luck the next go around!

Oh I've seen this before but didn't know what it was called. That's some serious weight loss without starving yourself. I don't think I could do the cottage cheese or hot dogs but could probably adapt it!
