While I was in Charleston/Isle of Palms, SC for baby Murpheys Baptism, all 18 of us went to the restaurant SALT. We had not planned on going here but when our reservations fell through at the other restaurant we drove down to Sullivan's Island and tried this place.

There menu is a bit confusing for a picky eater like myself because they used fancy words for their food that I had no idea what it was. Although their menu doesn't look very big you can pretty much get anything there - they have seafood, steaks, salads, soup, burger, chicken, pizza etc. I was really looking forward to some scallops but they didn't have any so that was a disappointment. However, I got the Black Angus NY Strip with Yukon Potatoes and a side Caesar salad. It was very delicious, I went with a good choice.

There was seating inside and outside, but the inside the doors were open and the bars windows were open so you could access the bar from the outside patio as well as inside the restaurant. We actually sat at the high top table and around the ledges overlooking the street in the picture to the right. I don't know how we fit all 18 people here but we did and I didn't feel crowded.

Our waitress was a little slow, now I know that we had 18 people but it took me about 15 minutes to get a beer. I had ordered my beer in the middle of the dinner so it wasn't like everyone was getting drinks at one time. That is one thing that bothers me at some restaurants when it takes 15-20 minutes to get a refill - by the time it comes you are ready to go.

But overall this restaurant was pretty good - but not if you are in the mood for seafood.
