Stephenson Wedding {Ceremony Part One}

Getting married at the church I grew up in was never a dream of mine until my mom passed away. Before that there was no way I was going to get married in a church. I wanted an outdoor wedding. But things change and my priorities changed. I am so glad we decided to get married in the church because I couldn't have imagined my wedding any other way if I hadn't.

After I walked down the aisle to  Canon in D Major and saw my husband to be crying still, I knew this was going to be one hard ceremony. I think there were a few times I told Timmy I don't know if I can keep standing up here just crying. But luckily for majority of ceremony we had our backs turned to our guests.

My dad gave me away and gave me a big hug! That was when it meant I was really getting married.

After my Dad gave me away we moved up the stairs to finish out the rest of the ceremony.

My grandfather read 3 scriptures, 1 scripture that Timmy and I chose which was 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 and then 2 that my mom had written down on 2 sticky notes that were on her desk, which were Proverb 30:5 and 2 Corinthians 5:17. Having my grandfather read those scriptures meant a lot to both Timmy and I because it was something my mom looked at every day.

After the scripture reading Lisa, our pastor, did her thing. I love listening to Lisa, she has this voice that just draws you in and makes you want to listen to what she has to say!

I love this picture of us.

Now this is where I am going to leave you. Be sure to come back next week, to see why we are praying in the middle of our ceremony! I promise you won't want to miss next weeks post!

What a GORGEOUS church! We're getting married in our church in July and I wouldn't have it any other way (but that might be because it'll probably be 100 degrees outside the day we get married so getting married outside is definitely not an option!)
