Book Review { Something Borrowed Review }

I am not an avid reader, but I am trying to read more books. Last year I don't think I read a single book. The last books I read were the Fifty Shades series and I read them right when they came out. But I am trying to do more adult things and I consider reading an adult thing. I remember when I had to read all those stupid summer reading books - I HATED IT. I remember crying so hard when I had to go upstairs for my hour reading time..yes I had to have a set reading time each day or else I wouldn't ever read. But I am proud to say that when I picked up this book, I was finished in a week. And I am already onto the second - Something Blue.

Not sure if I was so interested in it because it had a wedding theme to it and I am tying the knot in less than 4 months or what, but boy did I enjoy this book! I had it on my iPad for a few months now but just never found the time to read, but once I started I couldn't put it down.

The book is about 2 best friends who have been life long friends. One always gets things the way she wants them, the other sometimes feel jealous that things come so easily for Darcy. Rachel was always the follow the rules type of girl and was a people pleaser. Fast forward to Rachel's 30th birthday where Darcy throws Rachel a party and Darcy gets too drunk and must go home..leaving Rachel and Dex (who is Darcy's fiance, but also happens to be Rachels college friend and introduced Dex and Darcy). Rachel and Dex continue celebrating the night and end up confessing their feelings they have for each other. During the months leading up to the wedding Rachel must face multiple obstacles that will push Dex and Rachel together or pull them apart; Rachel must learn if her true happiness is more important than her longest friends happiness.

Ha, I used to completely hate summer reading too! It's so much better now - I've seen this book on the shelves so many times and almost got it but didn't - it's definitely on my list!
