How to Make the Most Out of a Snow Day

Who doesn't love a good snow day? Well, let me rephrase that...what southerner doesn't love a good snow day? I live in NC so snow days are rare, we mostly get ice, which still gets the schools closed and work cancelled, but it isn't very fun. But if we are lucky to get a nice fluff of snow, us Northcarolinians go crazy and really make the most out of our snow days!

North Carolina is calling for some snow in some parts starting tonight - probably won't amount to anything but we can only hope! Knowing a snow day may be coming can bring all sorts of kid like emotions! You all remember how much joy a snow day brought to us as kids, and now as adults it can bring just as much joy! But if you are having trouble with some ideas to do during your snow day, have no fear I have come up with the ultimate snow day activity list! Although, some activities only adults may participate in!

  • Snow beers, because duh!
  • Sleep in and turn off the alarm!
  • If you want to stay in, binge watch your favorite show on Netflix!
  • Drink hot chocolate or spiked hot chocolate.
  • Go sledding!
  • Build a snowman!
  • Make snow angels.
  • Have a snowball fight.
  • Roast S'mores.
  • Make snow cream, YUM!
  • Walk around the neighborhood and admire all the beautiful white fluff.
  • Go 4 wheeling.
  • Have a snow party and invite all your friends, but only if the roads are OK to drive.

Basically, just enjoy the snow! NC doesn't get it too often, so when we do get we go crazy! Last year we got some snow and some ice, mostly ice. But we still enjoyed it!

What do you do when it snows?

I think if we got less snow I'd be happier about a snow day! Haha but on the occasion we get enough snow for Chicago to shut down I love to go out and play in it!

I agree with all your suggestions. But then I'm a southerner too and have been one way longer than you. hahaha

Being a Colorado girl stuck in Texas, I must say I miss the snow. Going for a walk and spending a few hours just playing in it, then coming inside building a fire, sip in some warm hot cocoa while getting swept away in a great book. Oh those were the days. Hope you had fun!!

We're like that here in Georgia, too. Anytime there's white fluff on the ground we're ecstatic. My husband literally sounds like a 7 year old today. He's getting to work from home in his pajamas. He keeps coming in my office all excited. Our kiddo is honestly less excited and impressed than my husband. Haha!

So true that we southern people are always wanting snow! I live in Texas and we had a wee bit of snow the last few days! It has been fun.

Netflix binging is perfect. Great way to catch up on shows I haven't watched.
