Who doesn't love signs? I know I am a sucker for signs and printables! Since I started planning my dream Wedding I always envisioned there would be lots of cute signs and printables and when I came across Shelley's etsy shop I instantly loved so many of her items!
With the passing of my Mom, I have been searching for ways to honor her at my wedding. She was Timmy and I's number one supporter so I want to do something that stands out and shows how much my mom supported us. Shelley has a great sign inspired by the country song "If Heaven Wasn't So Far Away" by Justin Moore...I love that song.
Everyone loves a good photo booth, so make sure you have a cute sign to go with it!
I hate that Timmy and I didn't think of using any signs during our Engagement sessions. I think they are just so cute!!
These would be perfect for an outdoor wedding & ceremony. Too bad we are getting married in a church and then driving to the reception or else I would totally have these types of signs. These signs are really helpful to guests who have no idea where they are going. I have been to tons of weddings where I am just left standing there wondering where to go.
Shelley also has other signs for the home! I love the "In Our Home" sign. So cute.
Okay, so I just found these and I am in love! I am a Princess so I really may have to get these!! These are perfect for me and Timmy! Well, for me...he doesn't go around saying I'm a Prince!

Now...who wants to get to know the girl behind this amazing store??
Girl Talk: Tell us a little about yourself.
Shelley: My name is Shelley Rabe and I am the owner of Our Hobby to Your Home & Wedding — a custom events sign company. This family owned and operated business consists of myself and my amazing staff that help to make my dreams come alive through creating the perfect addition of Decor for years to come.
Girl Talk: How long have you had your store on Etsy?
Shelley: I opened my Etsy shop on October 21, 2009
Girl Talk: What inspired you to start making these signs?
Shelley: When I first began creating signs in 1989 I was a very young stay-at-home mom with 2 beautiful daughters. I couldn't afford much as we we're living on a meager salary with my husband in the Army. So, if I saw something amazing and couldn't justify spending the money, I would just make it myself. After getting comfortable with my craft, my signs were primarily given as gifts. All I could think of was “if only I could turn this into a successful Business, I would be the happiest girl in the world,” as that was my dream. So, I took the plunge and with a leap of faith I started doing Wedding Expo's and selling locally. I opened my Etsy shop in 2009 and before I knew it, we were busier than I could ever have imagined; I quickly realized that I couldn't keep up with demand by myself and started recruiting help. For the first 4 years we worked out of my spare bedrooms, office and even my own bedroom during the day. Then I was able to purchase the house right next door and turned it into a beautiful, large work space with work tables built by my Father out of bowling lanes.
Girl Talk: What is your favorite item in your store?
Shelley: I actually love all the signs and printables we have created. I guess I would have to say the sign/printable a customer mentions in my feedback would be the favorites for the day.
Girl Talk: What is you best selling item?
Shelley: Our “And They Lived Happily Ever After”, 11 1/2 X 14 1/2 inch, Wooden Heart Wedding Sign is one of our top sellers.
We have several top selling signs in both our Here Comes the Bride section and Wedding Chair Signs section.
Girl Talk: Anything else you would like to share with us?
Shelley: One last thing about me is I love and collect Nutcrackers; we go on vacation to Cabo, Mexico every year. Since 2009 I have never put my Etsy shop on vacation mode~ I work 7 days a week unless my Granddaughter (the love of my life) is over visiting or I am out of town on vacation (even then, I still answer convo's and have orders going out)...
