Your Guide to Packing for a Tropical Vacation

eeeeeek. We are going back to Mexico in just a few days! We leave Saturday morning and return next Friday night. We will be staying at the brand new Grand Fiesta Americana in Puerto Vallarta! This trip is all thanks to one of our distributors at work and we will be traveling with one of our good couple friends! We are so excited to get back to warmer weather, sunshine and endless drinks! 

When we went on our Honeymoon I packed WAY too much - I didn't wear 3/4 of the clothes I packed. So this trip I am going to attempt to pack a great amount less and fit it all in my carry on...I know you are probably thinking that is crazy, but all I wore are bathing suits and I did it before when we went to California, so I am really going to try. And it was so annoying worrying about our bags and having to pay for it.

One of the worst things about going on vacation is forgetting something you needed all the way back home. I have complied a list for a 6 day vacation somewhere tropical...meaning pretty much all you need is a bathing suit. Modify as you see fit, but this is based on my most recent trip to Mexico.

Clothing

• 6 pairs of underwear, 2 bras
• 1 pair of jeans
• 1-2 sundresses for a nice dinner
• 4-6 outfits of shorts, tops or t-shirts (these can be worn during the day or at night)
• 4 bathing suits / bathing suit cover ups
• shoes - flip flops, nice sandals, sneakers
• socks
• 3 sleep outfits
• sweatshirt
• raincoat

Personal Items

• make-up, deodorant & toilitries
• toothbrush/toothbaste
• hair brush
• flat iron
• sunscreen/tanning oil
• face lotion for dried skin
• razor & shaving cream
• hat & sunglasses
• beach bag
• clutch/crossbody bag

Purse

• passports/licenses
• money/credit cards
• itinerary
• jewelry/other valuables
• gum
• phone/charger
• computer/iPad
