Weekend Recap: One Last Lake Trip

Well, we got to spend one last weekend at the lake for the summer but it rained. But we still enjoyed spending the weekend with my dad and his girlfriend.

It was somewhat of a spur of the moment lake trip. We weren't planning on doing much this weekend because we went to the Brantley Gilbert concert Thursday night and stayed up a little too late on a week night.

But after work on Friday Timmy and I packed up the car and headed to the lake. It was just us down there Friday night so we went to bed early and got to sleep in late. It was amazing! My dad and his girlfriend, Stephanie, got down there at around 12:30. We were already on the lake enjoying the sun one last time.

About 20 minutes after Dad and Stephanie being there the clouds started rolling in. And then it started raining. We all huddled in the boat under the cover and tried to wait out the storm.

But it didn't look like it was getting any better so we headed upstairs to wait it out. It would clear up and we would get all of our stuff together to go back down and then it would start raining again. I think this happened about 3 or 4 times before we finally decided to give up and accept that our lake day was over. So we made a plan to get ready and if it wasn't raining we would go out to dinner on the water or if it was we would go to an Italian restaurant in town. Well, we all got ready and it hadn't rained at all while we were getting ready so we figured the storm had passed. 

We got on the boat and as soon as we were pulling out of our cove and headed to dinner the rain started. Just our luck, right?? So we decided to go somewhere else away from the storm. We had some wings and waited the storm out. After the storm passed we headed to the Blue Parrot on the water for some drinks and ended the night there.

Sunday we cleaned up and headed home. We were going to go right by UNC so I decided to surprise my little sister at her dorm! After we got home it was tons of laundry and movie time. We ended the night ordering pasta from one of our new favorite restaurants!
