Well unfortunately the Holidays have come and gone and we celebrated another Christmas as Mr. & Mrs.
The day after Christmas we left for the Mountains again with my family. It was going to be a warmer week in the mountains but we were ready for it. Thankfully I didn't over pack, this time. (I really think I am getting the hang of this whole only packing what you need thing).
Just like usual we did a lot of laying around and relaxing. The first night we got down there we just hung out at the cabin and watched football and cooked dinner. The following day was our big day out to Asheville to go out to eat, watch some bowl games and go bowling.
We tried a new place this year, Packs Tavern, and it did not disappoint. We will definitely be going back there. We went there at an odd time, 3:30pm on a Tuesday and we pretty much had the whole bar area to ourselves; it was nice especially with our rowdy bunch.
We ordered way too many appetizers and consumed them all, then ordered a late lunch/dinner all while watching the Wake Forest bowl game. My family is all from Winston Salem, so this was a big game for us.
After we ate we went bowling. Every year we always go bowling and play against families. Usually my dad, sister, husband and I always lose. But this year we were hoping for a different outcome since we went all out and bought bowling shirts and surprised the Clark's!
But unfortunately we lost...all 3 games. Oh well, we had fun and we surprised the heck out of the Clark's!
Later we ended up playing the game Speak Out, which is the best game ever! At first a lot of the men were skeptical and thought this was a stupid game, but they had just as much fun as we did!
The last full day we were in the mountains my dad, Timmy, my sister and I all headed into downtown Waynesville to do a little shopping and grab lunch. Waynesville is one of my favorite little towns, it is so cute and homey! The rest of the night was filled with family bonding and one last meal at the cabin; our favorite meal...a big dump - filled with shrimp, potatoes, corn and sausage! It was amazing!
Well until next year!
