Things I Never Thanked my Mom For

You don't think of all the little things that go on throughout the day that your mom does for you, that is until you she isn't there to do them for you anymore. There are so many things I would like to thank my mom for and tell her I appreciated everything she did, annoying at the time or not. If I could go back 3 years ago I would tell her all of these things!

Your Facebook posts. You were absolutely one of those annoying moms on facebook. Letting everyone know how many pairs of underwear you had to wash that day or what you were eating for breakfast, lunch and dinner. But now that you aren't here, thank you for posting every little moment we shared together. Thank you for being that obnoxious mom that took a picture at every outing. It reminds me of the little moments we shared. Thank you also for calling me out whenever I blocked something you posted on my wall.

Being my weather woman. Granted this was before you ever let me have an iPhone or a cool cell phone and I couldn't check the weather, but thank you for telling me how warm or cold it was outside every day before school and making sure I was dressed for the appropriate weather. Also, thank you for texting me those mornings in college when I did have the weather apps and still letting me know what the weather was like.

Attending all my sports games. Thank you for going to countless soccer games and games to watch me cheer. Thank you for being my number one cheerleader, although sometimes it was embarrassing to have you be the loudest mom in the stand but thank you for always encouraging me to do my best.

Helping me before high school dances. Thank you for always devoting the entire day of prom to helping me get ready. And especially that prom where I hated my hair and you didn't yell at me after you paid $120 to get it done and I took it all down.

Always being the cool mom. Even though sometimes I hated that my friends loved you so much and wanted to hang out with you just as much as me, thank you for being that awesome mom. Thank you for being the mom that my friends called their second moms.

Thank you for being you. I definitely got a lot of personality traits from you, you were weird and crazy but you were unique and an amazing woman. Thank you for never changing who you were because of what other people thought. Thank you for teaching me to be like you.

I love you mom and I miss you every single day.

Sometimes it is so hard to see what we have in front of us. It is great that you have so many wonderful memories of her.
