NYE 2016

We are on DAY SIX of 2017...can you believe it. I honestly can't. It seems like just yesterday I was  graduating college in 2013. But time doesn't stand still and somehow we have begun 2017. And let me tell you, did we have fun ringing in the New Year!

Even though we had fun ringing in the New Year in downtown Raleigh, I don't really have many plans to go out in downtown Raleigh again for New Years; I would much rather hang around the house with good friends or take a little trip. But this year we went downtown and it was fun, but crowded!

Since NYE fell on a Saturday I ran some errands before and took advantage of some of the NYE sales before it was time to go visit our friends and little baby SJ. Two of our friends, Whitney and Jim, just had a little baby girl back in October as some of you may remember, so they did not have any big plans for NYE but invited us over to hang out a little before we went out. It is always good to get some little girl snuggles from Sadie Jane!

After we left Whitney and Jim's house, we went home changed and ate dinner. Before we knew it, it was time to go downtown.

We made plans with some of our friends and also got to hang out with some of the people we met on the  cruise this past December, how fun is that! We decided to go to Cornerstone Tavern on Glenwood Avenue because it is huge and we thought we wouldn't feel as crowded as some places. Even though it was crowded it definitely was bearable.

We rang in the New Year there with great friends! They had 2 DJs and 4 bars, so it was fairly easy to get drinks throughout the night. That is definitely one of my favorite bars in Raleigh.

After the ball dropped, Timmy and I decided to walk across the street to the Ale House to grab some wings. Well, bad idea because it was $15 to get into a restaurant...isn't that crazy! I understand bars charging covers but a restaurant? But we already had our minds stuck on wings so we paid the $30 and ordered our wings. After we devoured our wings we caught a cab back and went straight to sleep.

NYD was pretty lazy. We got up just a few times to open the door to get the pizza and to refill our water cups. We have been going nonstop for the past few weeks, so we took advantage of our lazy sunday and binged watch Netflix and just relaxed.
