Have you ever wondered how you can get that gooey Rice Krispie Treat that tastes so good in the bakery at your own house? You could, just buy a few of those delicious ones the baker made and bring them home or you could slave for 5 minutes and make them yourself! If you are the type to say yep I will just buy them, then continue to the next blog, but if you are like me and wanted to be able to make them yourselves..continue reading (it will probably take you longer to read this post than it will to actually make these)!
Ingredients
- 5 tbsp butter
- 10 cups mini marshmallows (separate 8 cups, 2 cups)
- 6 cups Krispie Cereal
- 1/2 tsp salt
Directions
- Line a 13x9 or 9x9 pan with foil and lightly spray with cooking spray.
- Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat, once butter is melted add in 8 cups of mini marshmallows, stir constantly.
- Once marshmallows are almost all melted, remove from heat and stir in cereal and salt until coated in the mixture.
- Stir in remaining 2 cups of mini marshmallows.
- Pour mixture into lined pan and press in evenly (I found it was easier to get a new utensil because everything was sticking to the spoon I used to stir).
- Allow to cool before cutting into squares.

These are my son's absolute favourite treat! Did you know that it really matters if you use the brand name Rice Krispies, as opposed to a store brand? A friend looked at the shape of the cereal and showed me that the less expensive store brand doesn't hold together as well in the treats. Off-brand is fine for eating in a bowl, but for the treats the real thing works best.
I saw these a lot lately, but honestly, I never tried them. They seem very easy to put together so I will try to make them for sure. I'm very excited for the melted marshmallows part.
Seriously looks amazing! I love rice crispie treats!! I seriously need to bake more.
Yum! These look so delicious. I love rice krispies.
We love making these at home. I wanted to make some VDay ones but I didn't have time.
I'm all about simple and easy and these look amazing. Yes, please!!!
OMG! One of my most favorite treats when I was a kid! They are SOOOOO good but - as an adult, not so good for my waistline lol!
Girl, these are my favorite treats ever. They're so easy and taste so much better than the store bought kind. I need to make some soon!
