How To Glitterify Your Blog

Ever wondered how some people get all those cool graphics and fonts? Well I just recently learned how to make your fonts glittery. Who doesn't love glitter! I did this using Adobe Photosop, during my free 30 day trial!

1. Download Adobe Photoshop if you don't already have it. If you haven't already used a free 30 day trial you can download that as well.

2. Creative Cloud will be put on your desktop and before you can start working you will need to press "TRY" on Adobe Photosop and it will begin the download process.

3. After the download is complete you can begin making some pretty cool things in the Photoshop.

4. Create a new document and I made the Width 1000 and the Height 442

5. Next add text. I used the font Brittanic Bold and set the size to 340pt and centered it in the middle of the layout.

6. Next comes the GLITTER! Go to the New Layer icon in Layers panel to add a new layer above the text.

7. Go to Edit - Fill - Select 50% Gray for the contents. Blending needs to be set to Normal and the Opacity is 100% and Preserve Transparency should be unchecked. Click OK to fill the layer.

8. Now we just need a random pattern to create the effect. Go to Filter - Filter Gallery. Go to texture section and click on Grain. Make sure Contrast is set to 0 and Intensity set at 100. Click OK to apply the effect.

9. Now to change the color and make it look like glitter. Go to Image - Adjustments - Hue/Saturation. Click the Colorize box. Now we have a red - increase saturation to around 70-80 - Click OK to apply.

10. Next, create a new layer above the current layer in the layer panel. Fill with 50% Gray just like before. Go back to Filter Gallery. Set Grain type to Enlarged. Intensity to about 5 and increase contrast to 100. Click OK to apply.

11. Now we go to Image - Adjustments - Invert. Go to Layers panel - set the blend mode to Color Dodge.

12. Go to Layer - New - Layer via Copy. Then go back to Layers panel. Change the blend mode of this layer to Soft Light.

13. Now that we have the glitter - let's add it to the text! First we need to merge the effect layers into one. Click the red grain layers thumbnail in the Layers panel. Holding the shift key, click the top layers thumbnail - all 3 layers will be highlighted. Go to the Layer menu - select create clipping mask - now the effect is only visible where it meets the text.

14. To change the color - to go Image - Adjustments - Hue/Saturation and change it there.

Hope you all enjoy!!

That's one way! Or you can also do a pattern overlay which will display your text as whatever image you wanted! :)
