Home Decorating Goals for 2017

Timmy and I have been in our home for a few years now and we really haven't done much to it since we moved it. The house we live in is the house I lived in middle/high school; my dad bought a house in the neighborhood across the street and Timmy and I moved into it together. We love our little home, but it definitely needs some updating and after a few years having the same decor, I am itching for a change.

I have a few ideas, nothing too drastic, but enough to make me fall in love with the small space again. This certainly will not be our forever home, but it is the perfect space for us now and for the next few years.

2017 I want to make this the best year yet and with that comes change. So I am going to set a few house decorating goals for our home this year and hopefully really create our house a home.

Redecorate upstairs guest bathroom
We have one guest bathroom upstairs and in my eyes it is just boring. The tile in the floor is just awful, it has blue tile...I don't think we are going to tackle that quite yet, but in the future that is something I want to change. But I think with the redecorating with a new mirror, a nice over the toilet storage and a few decor items it could really transform the bathroom.

Gallery Wall on staircase wall
This has been something I have been wanting since we moved in. Our staircase wall is so big and boring. This will probably be one of the easier decorating ideas, but it is just the fact of actually getting it done!

Small updates/decor in master bath
Our master bath is pretty small, but we have a huge mirror that goes the length of our bathroom but it is so ugly. It is just one of those wall mirrors with no edge and I think adding a frame around it would just make it beautiful! I also want to add a few bathroom decor items around on the walls. And MAYBE a new light fixture, ours isn't too outdated right now though so we may not do that.

Porch furniture for upstairs deck
We have a huge deck off our main floor, but my dad built a small deck that goes off our master bath that is just useless space. It is absolutely empty and we don't utilize it for anything. I want to find some cute outdoor furniture to put out there for Timmy and I to enjoy a coffee in the morning or enjoy a book when the weather is nice. Nothing extravagant, just something.

Make screened in porch more cozy
Last April or May Timmy and I bought some furniture for our screened in porch, but now we are having trouble enjoying it. Or at least I am. Timmy loves it out there but to me it isn't cozy. Right now, it is just a place where Timmy hangs out and has nothing cute on the walls..just a boring space. I want to brighten it up a little and make it more homey.

These are just a few of what I hope to accomplish for our home in 2017! Do you have any home goals for the upcoming year?

I have a lot of ideas that I want to change about my home this year too. I also want to make a gallery wall, but I'm not sure where to start! Where are you looking for inspiration?

Small changes can make such a difference! We want to add ceiling fans to our daughters rooms, paint the whole interior, and put up a tv in the play room.
