February Goals + Recap of January


Another month, another set of goals to fail at. Wait, that isn't me being positive. This is the month I am going to kick ass in my goals! 


1. Get in at least one 5 miler walk per week.

Timmy and I are going to be doing the  Cystic Fibrosis Hike again in October and we really need to start training. 5 miles is a good start, but a long way to 22 miles.

2. Read 2 books.

3. Organize the bathroom cabinet in our master bath.

Currently our under the sink cabinets in our master bath is a disaster. I have old products that need to be thrown out, I have travel size products just thrown in there, it is just a mess. 

4. Lose 5 pounds.

Timmy and I booked our anniversary trip in October and I am in a wedding next month so I need to shed a few pounds.

5. Send out DIY Valentine's Day Cards to my girlfriends.

Not all my girlfriends are in a relationship so I want to make sure all my girlfriends, significant other or not, feel special on Valentine's Day!

6. Conduct a Reader Survey.

I am seeing a lot of new and old faces around here and sometimes I feel like I am searching so hard to find something to blog about, so in comes a reader's survey! 



Well....January you were supposed to be the month I got back into my goals but you weren't. I failed miserably, but at least I wrote down some goals? Let's see how January went for me.


1. Workout at least 5 times a week.

The first two weeks of January were a complete fail...but I stepped it up the last 2 weeks and really got some good workouts in.

2. Try out new recipes.

So I tired one new recipe. Not new recipeS. I will half count this. I made Chicken Parm one night and let me tell you I thought it was going to be easy, but it wasn't. I failed. Miserably, but at least I tried!

3. Read 2 books.

I finished the Wedding Belles series, finally! It was actually a pretty good series but they all ended the same. Guy gets girl or girl gets guy and they live happily ever after.

I also finished The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty (review coming soon)

4. Go on a movie date.

We had every intention on doing this - there were a few movies we wanted to see but never got around to it.

5. Complete 2 things on my  101 in 1001 list.

I completed 1 thing. I made a book to look back on  our year in 2016.


6. No spend January.

Yea....I am not sure why I thought that would be possible. I failed within like 2 days. Maybe I will try again another time.

I think it is so sweet you send out Valentine's Day Cards to your friends! I love receiving mail and there is something so special about V-day cards.

I was hoping to cut spending as well but it didn't happen. It's a new montu though! Good luck this month!

I loved the Husbands Secret! It completely surprised me! Have you joined the SYBL book club? We are reading Big Little Lies this month for our book. You should join if you're you haven't already. I too want to lose weight. I have been working out at least 2-3 x's a week. We got that girl! I conducted my reader survey last month. I am getting all the results together to have them out on a post soon. Good luck with your goals this month!!

Life is full of ups and downs and some months you just have to go with the flow of life. A new month and a new incentive to meet goals and knock them out of the park. I love you send cards to all of your friends. I'm going to do that too! Thanks for the idea! As far as spending, ummm....I started Christmas shopping for next year and I spent some extra money, but I will love it come next December. :-)
