Get Bathing Suit Ready

Stay Hydrated

I got a Fitbit Flex after Christmas and that is when I started to constantly drink water. We are supposed to drink 64oz of water a day, yes it is hard but it can be done. So go to Target get a cute water bottle and get to drinking. As soon as you wake up, drink 24oz of water.

Cardio & Ab Workouts

Get your butt to the gym. You aren't going to get results if you don't work at it. I am doing Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Workout - you can see my reviews on the workouts from Day 1 here and follow each week.

No Alcohol/Drinking your Calories

Cut out the alcohol. And don't drink your calories. A Starbucks coffee once a day sounds great, but that can mean you are drinking 500 calories.

No Fast Food

Yep, I'm looking at you Cook Out. It is so delicious but if we want those abs we can't be stuffing our face with this type of food.

Cut out the Sugars

Think about how you want to look at the beach when you are reaching your hand into that cookie jar. Do you want to be that friend that won't take any bathing suit pictures? Cut out the sugars and soda.

I have cut out sugar, and I'm dying! It's been a little over a week, but in the end I know it's worth it. I'm headed to FL for vacation in less than two months, so I've GOT to get ready to put on my bathing suit!!

I think I will die if I cut out sugar LOL :) I need though so bad.

Drinking my calories and sugar is definitely where I struggle! More so on the iced coffee front rather than alcohol.

Perfect tips!! I've been trying my hardest to cut out the alcohol, well cut back! I have been making a serious effort to drink more water - I'm so bad at that!

Trying sooo hard for this. I'm good on most fronts. But the sugar. Oh the sugar!!!!!!

I struggle with drinking calories (coffee) and needing a sweet now and then. If I do drink, it is usually only a beer or two on a Saturday and sometimes not even at all most weeks so I am good there. Gotta step it up for bikini season!!!

These are great tips. And very realistic... well minus the drinking calories. As a mama to two sweet baby twins, I am not sure I can give up my morning chai tea or my nightly glass of wine. Thanks for sharing these tips!

I have been on my way to getting in shape for summer, we have lots of fun plans and I want to be healthy to enjoy them. Then I got derailed by a house full of sick kids the past few weeks. I was worried what it would do to my getting healthy kick. No worries, I got sick with strep throat and a sinus infection, that put me eating out of the equation for a solid week. I am on the mend and down some pounds! Hate being sick, and would still have taken just not getting sick at all. Now I see the value in making sure I am healthy.

I'm having a baby in June/July so I won't be bathing suit ready this summer, but I'm still constantly trying to follow the water and no sugar rules + lots of walking to avoid gaining too much weight. So far I can't say I've been successful with the sugar thing though ;)

I'm trying to workout and I have been trying to drink more water, cut the soda and trying to eat smaller portions. Hopefully i'll be bikini ready by June.

I've been somewhat successful in cutting out the alcohol, but coffee! I really just can't seem to cut that out!

I couldn't believe when I cut my carbs and sugars the difference that it made! Nothing (in theory) too complicated, it's just making sure that you can follow through. And I totally agree with not drinking your calories.

As much as I love alcohol and fancy Starbucks drinks, I HATE drinking my calories! I get so irritated with myself when I do, because it seems like such a waste. I made a deal with myself where Sunday-Thursday, I only drink water and regular coffee. Friday and Saturday I let myself have Starbucks, soda, and alcohol.

Awesome tips! I really need to get back on the workout train, asap!

Awesome tips! I think lately we don't think about calories as much as we used to in the 80's. Drinking your calories is such a waste, I agree.

Great tips! I basically only drink water but sometimes I have coffee or tea (home brewed, low sugar and with almond milk).
I also am currently not eating out. I actually have a fitness/lifestyle blog. I am currently getting bikini ready too and working out daily!

Christie & Ashley, I can definitely relate. Let me give a few tips that might help. Since sweets are the thing a lot of women crave, a great substitute for sugar in beverages is Stevia. It is a natural sweetener from a herb. No chemicals like Splenda, saccharin, NutraSweet and the like, which are all soooo bad for your health and causes disease. Test out how much Stevia you like, usually a little goes a long way. You'll find it at any supermarket. Good luck! And by the way, I too will be in Florida in May! Have a great time!
