A Blissful Haven

Tell us about yourself.

Hey there! I'm Lexi and I blog over at A Blissful Haven.  I am a 22 year old living in Ohio with my boyfriend, Brad, and our beagle, Boone.  I love to read, write, watch sports, be outdoors, and spend time with family.

Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging about a year ago.  I just really enjoy to write and I wanted to have a creative outlet that could be a hobby.  I have moved to a new location where I don't really know a whole lot of people and all of my friends live a few hours away, so I created A Blissful Haven to write about girl things (like fashion, beauty, books, etc.) that Brad wouldn't want to hear about.  When I first started I posted whenever I felt like it and a year later, I am posting more and meeting people.  It's so exciting to see someone consistently comment on your posts and really enjoy reading my posts.

How did you come up with the name A Blissful Haven for your blog?

When I was deciding what to name my blog, I spent a lot of time jotting down words and trying to find something catchy.  I actually created my "catch phrase" first which is "It's about taking the time to escape reality" and then going from there.  Blissful means extremely happy; full of joy and Haven means a place of safety or refuge.  I wanted my blog to be my happy place where I can escape into my thoughts and write about whatever I feel.  And that's how I came up with my name.

What has been your favorite thing about blogging?

I would have to say my favorite thing about blogging is all of the people I have met.  There is nothing more special than reading a comment from someone and having them express that they really needed a post like this today or how they can totally relate to what I'm going through.  It definitely makes me feel happy inside.

What are your favorite posts to read?

I love reading posts that are "real".  I love hearing about how people spend their days and what their routines are.  I think it is so interesting

What are your favorite posts to write?

I love writing posts that can help someone through various tips.  The month of February, I focused on the working girl and each day I had some kind of helpful post from writing a resume to what to wear to how to deal with difficult co-workers.  The response from people was great!

Who are some of your favorite bloggers?

MaLyn: MaLyn Logic
Ashley: Girl Talk
Miranda: Miranda Writes
There are so many that I love that the list could go on forever!

What is your go to Spring outfit?

I love a good pair of destroyed jeans, a tshirt, sandals, and sunglasses.

What is your favorite Spring activity?

Anything outdoors.  I love getting up and going exploring, fishing, hiking, something like that outdoors and then coming home, grilling out, and sitting in the sunshine.
