{ Married Life } January 2016 Dates

Valentine's Day is this weekend, so I thought it would be fitting to recap our January Dates! Timothy and I are very social people. We are hardly ever not with some of our friends on the weekends, so making sure we have time for some one on one time is very important to us. We love spending nights with our friends making memories we will never forget but since we are a newly married couple we also make time to set aside for just us two. With 2016 just beginning we wanted to make sure to not get too busy and make it a priority to also spend some time alone.

The first date we went on in 2016 was a day date...which are my favorite! We went to see Daddy's Home (which was hilarious), went out to eat Mexican (which is one of our favorite meals) and went shopping at Dicks. It wasn't an over the top date but we had a blast and spent the entire day together.

The second weekend in 2016 we managed a little us time before dinner with some friends. We planned on meeting some friends at the Ale House for dinner and drinks to watch the NFL games, so we decided to get there a little earlier to have a little us time. We ordered apps and stuffed our faces. It may not have been a full on date night, but we had about an hour together to have a little mini date before our friends out there.

We really did a lot of things just us two this month and it was perfect. The third weekend we went on a double date with 2 of our friends that we have both known since we began dating, Nick and Molly. Turns out I knew Molly through work and Timmy ended up knowing Molly through ECU and Nick and Timmy were friends before we started dating. Then about a month or so later we heard that Nick and Molly had been dating for a little, it was so fun to hear that 2 of our separate friends had began dating and we could all hang out together! They are getting married in May!

We had planned on going ice skating in downtown, you know one of my Winter bucket list items, but it ended up raining so we decided to try out the Raleigh Beer Garden. It was such a neat experience, they have over 350 beers on tap and you can get pretty much any beer from anywhere. We will definitely be visiting again!

We of course had a whole week of day dates and date nights when we spent an entire weekend in Mexico

I love date nights! I think it's so important to have them as a couple. I have not seen Daddy's Home yet but it looks really funny! My boyfriend and I both love Mexican food as well (seeing we live in TX, there is always a good place to eat at). I have not been ice skating in years! I would probably bust my butt if I went now. Maybe I'll have to go do it again soon.

That's so great you were able to carve out some time for just the two of you. So important!

Dating your spouse is so important! Sounds like you guys had so much fun! Love one-on-one romantic dates, but I also love double and group dating with our friends, it's a different type of fun. :)

I'm kind of jealous! I've been living with my significant other for about a year and a half and we definitely don't take enough time out to really have a date — at least I don't think we do. I enjoyed reading this, thanks for sharing and I'm glad you've been having such a nice time!

You're absolutely flawless in every picture! I love that you and your hubs take time out for "you" time together. John and I both want to make sure that doesn't stop for us either after we're married! Happy Hump Day

This is so great! My bf and I have two little ones, so we rarely go on dates at all, haha... but sometimes we have "stay in" dates, where after the kids go to bed we order our favorite take out and watch a movie together or something like that. This makes me feel like we should get a babysitter a couple nights a month and really go out!!
