Best vs. Worst Halloween Costumers

Everyone has dressed up for Halloween at some point in our lives. There was a time when we thought it was so cool to dress up, then we got into our teens and we thought it was childish then we grew up and it was cool and fun again! I know I went through those stages and now I love dressing up for Halloween even if it is just putting on some cat ears and painting a nose and some whiskers on my face. However, sometimes we see some awful Halloween costumes that make us wonder why anyone would dress up as that! Well, without further ado let's take a look at some of the best and worst Halloween costumes I have found!

Best of the Worst

Now for the good ones!

#FallAboutMe

Happy Thursday!! Today I thought I would do something a little different! Last week I saw on Lindsay's blog a Fall About Me post and I loved it so I decided I would copy her and do one as well!!

Favorite Candle Scent//
I am the type of girl who has a million candles and a million scentsy things going on all at once! You walk into one room you smell vanilla, you walk into the room directly beside it you smell cinnamon. But right now my favorite candle scent would have to be anything to do with baked apples or cinnamon!

Beverage of Choice [Coffee, Tea, Hot Chocolate]//
Right now I am on the Cafe Mocha kick at Starbucks...but add 2 raw sugars.

Favorite Thanksgiving Food//
Since I am a picky eater I tend to eat lots and lots of turkey, mashed potatoes and mac n cheese. We got to the Williamsburg Lodge for Thanksgiving lunch every year and they always have such delicious food!

What is your best fall memory you have?//
When we were little my sister and I used to go to the Halloween carnival at our church every year. They had a cake walk and I used to do it all the time, multiple times in one night, and would take home so much cake! My mom was always so happy when I brought home the caramel cake!

Favorite type of pie?//
Chocolate chess pie...heated in the oven. It just melts in your mouth.

What is autumn like where you live?//
In North Carolina, you can have 80 degrees one day and it snowing the next. NC weather is whack..but a perfect fall day would be sunny around 60 degrees!

Football games or jumping in leaf piles?//
Football games all the way. Who knows what kind of animals are in those leaf piles!

Pumpkin Spice worth the hype?//
I don't like really anything pumpkin flavored..so in my opinion no.

Combat boots or Uggs?//
Umm...uggs all the way. I will find any reason to wear my uggs!

Skinny jeans or leggings?//
Leggings...especially when its freezing out and you have ones with flannel inside!

Halloween- Yay or Nay//
I used to not like Halloween, now I love it! I just need to get Timmy on bored with the whole couples costume!

What do you think about Black Friday?//
I LOVE IT. When we go to Williamsburg there are outlets right by there and it used to always be crowded, now you hardly ever have to wait in a line it is awesome!

missFITTE { ETSY SHOP }

Disclaimer: This is a sponsored post. I received a product in exchange for this post. All reviews and opinions are my own.

Fun shirts are my favorite. I love putting on a shirt that has some cute saying or some smart mouth comment on it; they just make me feel better.

Since I am going to be a newlywed in LESS than a month, of course I want anything and everything that has to do with marriage. I found this tank and I knew it would be perfect for our Honeymoon!

Here are some other Bridal clothes they had that I just loved!

There are also some great gym tanks as well!

____________________________________________________________________________

Let's get learn some things about this cute shop!

Girl Talk: How long have you had your store on Etsy
missFITTE: We started our shop in January of this year. We have another etsy shop (www.ellembee.etsy.com) that we've had for 7 years, but we just decided to start this new line to reach a broader audience.

Girl Talk: How did you start making these shirts?
missFITE: I used to be a bedding designer in SoCal, and got laid off in 2008. I moved back home to Detroit, and started making tee shirts out of my mom's basement just to make some extra cash, and it took off! Now we are 7 years going strong and loving it :)

Girl Talk: What is your best selling item?
missFITTE: So far our best selling item has been our "mornings are for mimosas" tank in red. It seems like everyone loves a shirt that has to do with drinking.

Girl Talk: Where do you come up with some of the excellent sayings?
missFITTE: We brainstorm ideas here at the warehouse located in the Detroit suburbs. We also get inspiration from other sellers and then put our own unique spin on the sayings and designs.

See something you like? Well go check out missFITTE's Etsy shop!

2015 Fair Recap

The NC State Fair is here and I love it! I don't love the crowds, but I love the people watching, the food and the excitement of it all! Take a look here at why I have a love/hate relationship with the fair!

Last week we made it to the fair(sorry for the awful iPhone pics). I had anticipated eating my weight in fried food, but surprisingly that didn't happen. Every year my whole family goes to the fair. We meet at Cary Methodist to eat dinner and then we go our separate ways. After dinner we headed straight to the rides. I am not a big fan on riding rides but there are a few I will ride. I think I rode about 4 rides. My sister on the other hand is a ride fanatic and will ride all of the upside scary ones! Needless to say those rides she had to ride alone because neither me or Timmy were going to go on them.

After we rode some rides it was time to eat again. This time it HAD to be Fried Cookie Dough. This treat is absolutely delicious, if you ever have the chance to try it I highly recommend it.

Timmy got fried snickers, I got fried cookie dough and Caroline got fried reeses. They were all covered with powdered sugar and a mess to eat, but they were amazing!

After we ate our treats, we rode a few more rides and then headed home. I definitely didn't experience the fair like I usually do but we still had a blast!

Last Weekend Alone

Timmy left for his bachelor party on Thursday morning with my dad and a few of his groomsmen. They went to Nashville, TN and I know they had a blast..they are on the way back today and I can't wait to see him..I sure did miss him!

Since Timmy was out partying with his friends, I thought it would be a perfect weekend to have some "me" time and spend the weekend with some of my girls, since between now and the wedding our weekends are booked solid. Since my dad went on the trip with them, I stayed at my dads to watch my younger sister and it was nice having such a comfortable King size bed all to my self.

Friday night it was time to clean the house and I mean deep clean the house..I scrubbed toilets. I also decided to hang some curtains! After I was done it was so nice to light all the candles and just sit and relax in such a clean home, thankfully it is still clean and hopefully it will stay that way!

Saturday morning I woke up after such a good night sleep in my dads Kind size bed and made some coffee and watch Dog the Bounty hunter from the comfort of his bed!

For lunch my sister and I decided to go to Kanki, the japanese restaurant at the mall, since we were going to the mall to look for dresses for the Bridesmaid Luncheon and the rehearsal dinner (ps...we are only a few mondays away until the wedding!). We ate way too much but it was so worth it. Kay found 2 dresses, while I found none.

I dropped Kay off and saw how close I was to a target and HAD to stop. I went in there needing nothing, but walked out with a scarf and a phone case. Target gets me every time!

After target I went home and relaxed on the couch a little before I had to start getting ready for the night. Two of my bridesmaids and I were going out. I stopped by the gas station on the way home and hit the motherload! My drink of choice: limearitas...no matter the season. Well I was originally just going to get one of the tall boy ones, when the man told me they had a case (24) of lemonritas for $10! FYI usually a 12 pack is $11.99. I took my tall boy back and got the case!

We drank a little at the house before going out. I had so much fun, it was nice to just get out with the girls!

Sunday morning I woke up and started my day with a nice long hot shower! Then it was off to my friends house who sells Beauty Counter & Norwex for an in home party. I was selling my Chloe & Isabel and she also had a LulaRoe rep there as well! It was a lot of fun! I am going to be creating a Chloe & Isabel group on Facebook today that will have pictures of all the jewelry and it is where I will have my markdown sales once a month! The sales will range from 25-50% off items! So if you would like to be added let me know!!

Favorite Fall Decor

I love having some fall decor in the house around the holidays, but I will admit this year I am severely lacking. Decor is just not on my list of to-dos with the wedding in less than a month. But, I do love it and usually am fully decorated. Below are some of my favorite fall decors.

one // wood decor

two // pallet sign

four // fall sign

five // pumpkin

Tips for Planning a Wedding

Here is a photo of my fiance and I the day we got engaged in sunny Florida!

Being engaged is supposed to be one of the happiest times of your life and for me it has been. I have loved every minute of being engaged and sharing this wonderful experience with the people I care the most about. Today I am going to share with you some tips I have learned while planning my wedding!

1 // Take your time

I can't stress how nice it has been to have such a long engagement. Timothy and I got engaged in July of last year and will be getting married November of this year. That leaves us with a 16 month engagement. It has been wonderful! Taking our time really reduced the stress level and we have gotten the chance to really take some time with some of our big vendor decisions and have gotten to enjoy multiple parties so far without feeling overwhelmed, we had our Engagement Party in December and just recently had a Stock the Bar Engagement party. Never heard of a Stock the Bar Party? Well check out my brief description here and check out all the party details here. (Don't worry! We weren't stocking our bar for the wedding - we were stock the bar at our house!)
You only get to plan your wedding once, so don't let this magical time be a stressful time!

2 // Accept that you can't please everyone

This has been something tough for me, but I think I finally have it wrapped around my mind that this is mine and Timothy's day and not everyone is going to love the food, not everyone is going to love the flower arrangements on their table and not everyone is going to love the venue. But we do love all those things and that is what matters. I have had to learn to trust my vision of the day and not let anyone else's negative opinion make me change my mind. I have had to keep some stuff from some people because I know they will have something negative to say, so I will just let them be surprised on November 21, 2015.

3 // Ask your bridal party early / choose wisely

I can't stress to you how glad I am that this was one of the first things I did after being engaged! The Bridal Party is there to help you and the sooner you ask the sooner you have friends to help. My bridal party has been wonderful so far and have had very little drama, so I am thankful for that. Also, choosing your bridesmaids can be a very hard decision if you are a social butterfly and consider everyone your best friend. I have 9 bridesmaids. Yep 9. But it has been a great group of girls and I couldn't imagine planning this wedding without them. Timothy also has 9 groomsmen, they are a little more difficult to handle but we love each and every one of them. Choosing a bridal party is like setting the mood for your wedding - they need to be fun but also reliable. We have some drinkers in our bridal party but thankfully they all know how to handle themselves. You also don't want drama, that is the last thing you, as the bride, needs. More stress on top of the stress you are already having.

4 // Take one thing at a time

When I first got engaged, I was just so excited I started emailing any and every vendor I could find. Bad decision. I was flooded with emails and prices and I had only been engaged for a week. We had no idea the date we wanted, we had no idea the type of wedding we wanted and most importantly we had no idea what our budget was. After I immediately got stressed out, I decided to take one thing at a time. I had worked as an intern for a Wedding Planner while in college so I called her up and booked her! She then took me through the steps and we booked the venue, then the food, then the flowers, then the cake, then the linens and then went onto the smaller things. Focusing on one vendor at a time made it so much easier and made the process so much simpler. Tracy wouldn't let me move onto the next big vendor until I had the previous vendor booked. I loved the way we did it because it kept me keeping up with my budget and not getting overwhelmed. We have all the big vendors picked out now it is just time for the little things :)

5 // Hire a wedding planner

A wedding planner isn't for everyone, but I knew I was going to need one. The main reason I wanted a wedding planner was because I knew how amazing Tracy was at her job and I had seen her keep a bride and family completely calm when their tent caught on fire. The second reason I decided to hire a wedding planner is because I didn't have the wedding planner most brides have, their mom. My mom passed away almost a year ago and she had been saving and planning this wedding before Timothy popped the question. But hiring a wedding planner was the best decision I could have ever made because she has helped me so much and has given me some amazing suggestions about vendors and has really helped me keep everything moving right along. If any of you are in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area and are looking for a wedding planner - call Tracy!

6 // Guest List

This is what I am in the middle of right now. And it is pure torture. Our venue holds 185 guests, if everyone has a seat. We will be right at the 185. Scary. I know. But when both you and your fiance have a big family and one of your grandfathers is one of the best lawyers in North Carolina, the numbers can add up very quickly. I have learned some tips when putting together the guest list...

-Not everyone gets a date and that is fine. I have a lot of friends that are in and out of relationships with different people, so there comes a point when I have to just say no date for you. But most of those friends will also know almost everyone else at the wedding..so there is my reasoning why some/most of my friends will not be getting a plus one. And I am already having trouble with the guest count with people I actually know, I don't need to add some random guy my best friend met at the bar last weekend.

-Some people will say no. You will get some declines and you will (or at least I am thinking I will) have a little party in your head because that is one step closer to your actual number allowed at your venue. Sorry I am being totally honest - you wish everyone you knew could come but that isn't the case. Also, I learned that 20% of the guests you invite will decline. I hope this doesn't bite me in the butt because I am totally going off that being true right now. Right now I have 224 people being invited to our wedding, if 20% say they can't come that will leave us with 180 people at our wedding. 5 LESS THAN THE ALLOWANCE.

7 // Excel / Google Docs

I have a running list of all the things I need, all the guests address, each gift I have received, etc. It has been a life savior!

8 // Social Media

Social Media the crap out of your planning! I have loved getting to blog all about this wedding experience and instagramming all the photos. Also, come up with a good #hashtag for people to use at parties and your wedding. Ours is #TheChaseIsOver112115 becuause my last name is Chase. Having your friends use the #hashtag at your showers is great, so you can see all the pictures from those parties as well!

9 // Use the internet, but use it wisely

Pinterest can be great, but it can also be a mind blogging tool to use. I was all over Pinterest at the beginning, now I am trying to stay away from it as much as possible when it comes to the actual wedding because it messes up my entire vision. Of course I use it at some points but I try to limit myself to look at pictures that are based on my vision. Also, I signed up for the The Knot to help me keep track of certain things.

10 // Have fun

This is supposed to be one of the best moments of your life so enjoy this time with your fiance and watch how your love grows!
